Spotify invites available!

Hey peeps

So the good news is that I have some Spotify invitations to give away.

For those of you who don’t know, Spotify is a Swedish music streaming service, kinda like last.fm but waaay better. They have a huge music library which is growing at about 1 million tracks per day, according to the blog. I’ve been astounded with the depth and quality of the coverage.

They’re currently in beta, and the free service is ad-supported, with ads being streamed every 10 to 15 tracks or so. I mostly get XBox 360 ads, and a few weeks ago lots of elf an’ safety messages about not pointing fireworks at your face during Guy Fawkes. (What does that say about my demographic?)

Don’t know if the ad frequency will increase as the service gains popularity and comes out of beta, but for the moment it’s low enough not to bother me. Besides, as I said, the library is huge. Not just commercial pop, thank god.

So, comments on a postcard and the first three Viagra spammers will get invites.

Oh, and for you South African mates out there – it’s not available in your country yet. Sorry. But you also have Kalk Bay and the Brass Bell and the mountain and the dassies. So fuck off =)
